Why I built TechSafe for Kids
As a parent based in the UK with a passion for online safety and technology, I found myself constantly frustrated by the state of online safety information available to parents and guardians. Every search led to scattered advice across dozens of websites, often contradicting each other, written in technical jargon, or buried in fear-mongering headlines that didn't actually help me protect my children.
I spent countless evenings trying to configure parental controls on different devices, searching for trustworthy advice about new apps my children wanted to use, and attempting to keep up with the ever-changing landscape of online threats. The information existed, but it was fragmented, inconsistent, and often difficult to trust.
That's why I built TechSafe for Kids – to create the resource I desperately needed as a parent. A single, trusted place where UK families can find clear, practical, and up-to-date guidance on keeping children safe online. No technical jargon, no fear-mongering, just straightforward advice from someone who understands what it's like to balance giving children freedom to explore technology whilst keeping them protected. Every guide on this site is written with real UK families in mind, tested with actual devices and services available here, and updated as technology changes.
